The inspiration for creating From Babylon to Timbuktu is Ayoub’s love of Africa and all the ethnic music that travelled across the Middle East, North and West Africa. The album shows how beautifully the oriental melodies of Babylon can merge with the pentatonic scales of Timbuktu. The root topics of this album are love, togetherness, forgiveness, and the freedom we all seek to reach in our lives.
